Slide show tips

Of course you can organize and present your slide show in any way, shape or form that you choose. You are the best judge of what pictures need to be seen in the proper order and especially the song/music selection that goes along with it. (This is why we ask you to number your pictures to reflect the sequence that they should be seen). Our main role is to get your ideas onto a DVD so it can be presented for everyone to see.

Here are a few tips that you may want to take into consideration when developing your slide show for your wedding. Even though you may not follow this method it may help you to develop your show with another outlook. Note that we have seen a number of slide shows presented similar to this with very "entertaining" and "moving" results.

  1. Always start with an Introduction with text to make the statement of what your show is about. For example…. Mr. & Mrs. John Doe growing to Love each other….. "When we met- it was love at first sight"……. "Our Love is never ending"….. Etc. etc..
  2. Normally start with bride pictures and display them progressively. Start with baby pictures, childhood years, teenage years, then to adult years.
  3. Then move on to Groom pictures and display them progressively. Start with baby pictures, childhood years, teenage years, then to adult years.
  4. Next display pictures with both bride and groom. You don’t need to be progressive or follow any special order. Be creative and go for what "feels" and looks the best to capture the mood. This is also a good time to switch to a different song to now show the two of you together and reflect a different mood.
  5. Final picture for the show. This one is very important. Should be the best shot of the two of you together that you both absolutely love and feels the most natural and comfortable with.
  6. Wrap it up with some text to make a statement. Your final statement should not only summarize the slide show but should summarize how you feel about each other. For example…… "We will love each other till the end of time"……… "Our Love continues to grow each day".
  7. Song selection can be critical. Most of the time the music used should be inspirational-flowing-bright to reflect the mood. Perhaps a song or songs that were playing when you first met or first danced. Pay close attention to the lyrics to make sure it sends the proper message that you want conveyed.

Alternate method that is also very successful:

  • Combine steps 2 and 3 as listed above and alternate. Show baby pictures of bride then baby pictures of Groom. Show childhood pictures of bride and then childhood pictures of Groom…… You get the idea.
