Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How long does it take before I get my Wedding video?

Answer: Typically 4-6 weeks after taping.

Question: Do I need to make a deposit?

Answer: Yes, once you have established you want a videotaping of your event you will have to make a minimum deposit of $175 (deposit may be higher pending your location). When the deposit it made it will ensure that we will be available for your selected date. This deposit "books" the date exclusively for you and is non-refundable.

Question: Do I have to sign a contract?

Answer: Yes, there are many details that need to be reviewed and established in order to provide a professional service.

Question: Can I have special music in my video?

Answer: Yes, in some cases you may need to provide the music yourself

Question: What is a Music montage?

Answer: A music montage is basically a music video of your event. "Clips" are arranged and adapted to music along with special effects to reflect the "mood".

Question: Why does it cost so much to have my event video taped?

Answer: It’s an expensive and time-consuming process. Please keep in mind that you are getting a "production" of your event. Besides using professional equipment (3CCD digital cameras, microphones, special lenses, computers and software) it takes time to process and come up with a completed product. The average wedding takes 6-8 hours of videotaping, 30-40 hours of editing and 4-6 hours of DVD authoring and graphic production for an approximate total of 47 hours!

Question: You video tape many hours of video, how come my DVD is only an hour or two long?

Answer: We spend many hours of editing to remove unwanted or unnecessary footage. Editing makes it more interesting and gives your video a "flow" to document your event from beginning to end. We work hard to make sure you see the best presentation Possible of your event!

Question: Why do you recommend using 2 cameras?

Answer: It’s impossible to cover everything with just one camera. A second camera gives you another angle and point of view to look at, not to mention picking up on some of the things the first camera may have missed. Your production is greatly enhanced by switching from one camera to another to give your video a "TV" or "Movie" like production..

Question: Can you videotape the Bride getting ready prior going to the church?

Answer: This is not part of the normal package, however it can be done (extra charges will apply). In most cases this is an extremely busy and hectic time that many brides do not want this private time interrupted.

Question: When do you actually begin Videotaping and what do you cover?

Answer: Although we arrive an hour before the ceremony, in a normal Wedding/Reception package video taping begins at the church approximately 20 minutes before the ceremony. We record shots of the church, crowd, singers, musicians and any participants. We cover the entire Ceremony and record parts of your still photo shoot at the end. Show you entering the Car/Limo. We next capture shots of your reception hall prior to you entering. We capture you and your wedding party making entrance, doing toast, main dances, cutting of cake, etc.. This will be approximately of 3 hours (in duration) of taping at the reception. We will check with you before we leave in case you may be looking for something special video taped.

Question: Why do you want to put a wireless Microphone on the Groom?

Answer: The wireless mike will greatly increase our chances of recording the audio portion of your vows on video. Many times both the bride and groom have a tendency of lowering their voices during the vows.

Question: Can I have "chapters" on my DVD

Answer: Yes, we try to design the DVD to be interactive so you can have quick access to key points of your event.

Question: Will I get 2 DVD’s discs in each DVD case?

Answer: Maybe. We try to design the DVD to fit on one disc, however if we find the duration is too long or the quality may be affected we will then apply it for two separate discs (normally ceremony and reception. If your preference is to have 2 discs, just let us know.

Question: Can I have my video on VHS tape?

Answer: Yes, but extra charges apply. Applying your video to a VHS tape is actually a different process which will consume more time. There are 2 other issues to be aware of when using a VHS tape. 1) The quality is much lower (approx. 50% as good as DVD). 2) No interactive menus.

Question: Why do you want to attend the wedding rehearsal?

Answer: Every Ceremony is a little bit different. It also gives us a chance to look at lighting requirements; proper camera angles (if we can anticipate where you are going to be, we can get a clear camera shot). It gives us an opportunity to discuss with the clergy any special requirements (what we can and can not do). We can also test our audio equipment to insure it doesn’t affect the ceremony’s sound system. In general this will help us be better prepared to give you the best possible video.

Question: Will you be getting in the way of people trying to watch the Ceremony?

Answer: We work very hard at trying to be as low key and quiet as possible. We do not want to interfere with the ceremony or the people watching it.

Question: Can I have all of the video, even the parts that have been edited out?

Answer: Yes, however there will be a small charge. The video that you are asking for is called the "Raw footage". Should you decide you want the raw footage you should note the following…… It won’t be available until shortly after the original DVD’s have been completed (we may need these for editing purposes). If you decide to have the "Master Raw footage" tapes, they may or may not play on your equipment (we use DV tapes on pro cameras that may react differently on consumer equipment). We recommend, the easiest way to get the raw footage is a direct copy to DVD (note that this would be totally unedited)

Question: Why not just have someone in my family videotape?

Answer: You can! However please be aware that in nearly all cases you will not get professional results without professional attention. Professionals have a trained eye, high quality equipment, specialized software and most of all the experience and know how.

Question: How many DVD’s do I get with my package?

Answer: You get 5 DVD’s with each wedding package. And depending on how your DVD’s are designed you may actually get 5 sets (2 per set assuming you have a separate DVD for the ceremony and the reception combined in one case).
