Our approach

Our main approach to video taping your wedding!

Even though most of the time a videographer and a photographer are in the same area, they are taking 2 entirely different approaches. Most of the time when a couple decides to get married they immediately consider it a "given" to hire a photographer but hesitate and put it on the back burner to bring in a videographer. Why? Perhaps, they don’t understand there is a big difference in what they both do?

Stop or GO
Normally a photographer will try to stop you where you are at, get you to pose and then take your picture. I have the greatest respect for photographers because this is an art form in its own respect. They also strive to get the proper lighting, a great background and unique poses, especially during your photo shoot or select candids throughout you wedding day. Many times they will use special lighting, backgrounds and flash to get the sharpest possible picture.

When Video Events is video taping we take a different approach that is almost exact opposite of a photographer. We want to keep everything going and moving as much as possible. We want to capture the " moment" or "feeling" when it is occurring. Essentially it is a "live" video taping and we only have one shot at capturing it. We strive to do this though out the Wedding day except for 3 situations (as listed below). Although lighting and background are very important (these features) will take 2nd place to capturing a "special one time moment". We do not use lights on our cameras because most people find it very distracting and annoying. We don’t "set up" a shot because we want to capture you as natural as possible. We try to be very creative with the camera angles to give you a unique look. (Instead of moving you around, we move the camera)

Our Exceptions and why:

  • We try to get a brief interview with the Groom if possible. We feel getting the groom to speak a little at the beginning of the video adds appeal to your video. Although the groom knows we are going to take a short video, he may not be aware of the questions we will be asking him. This keeps it very spontaneous because he doesn’t know what to expect. None of this is rehearsed or set up in any way.
  • Kiss and goodbye wave. This is typically our "signature" ending to your video. It’s a very appropriate way for the finale of your DVD. Again this is not rehearsed or set up; we simply ask you kiss and wave.
  • Any special situations that you request. If you have something special that you want taped…. We are at your service to help you achieve the shot that you are looking for.
